Genealogy Software

You need to organize your data. The best way to do this is using a computer, which you probably have if you are reading this, and genealogy software. Start entering the data you discover into the software, and be sure to back up the data. Back up the data to CD or floppy, USB flash drive, whatever but make sure it not on the PC. You don't want your PC to crash and have to search for and enter all the data again.

Okay, there are a couple of good programs available on the internet. Legacy Family Tree is very good and you can visit Genealogy.com where you will find
Family Tree Maker. I am sure there are a couple more out there but this is a start.
